The historic city of Beaufort, South Carolina is a popular tourist destination due to its many landmarks and barrier island beaches. The city of Beaufort will officially celebrate its 300th anniversary in 2011, but its settlements date back to almost 500 years. Beaufort is home to Lady’s Island, St. Helena’s Island, Harbor Island, Hunting Island and Fripp Island.
