The long shadows of public doubt cast by the collapse of the world credit system, beginning in 2008, along with the onset of the worst economic recession since the abysmal 1930’s, had blinded individuals to the specks of good news emerging on the recovery.

Stock Market is at Crossroads

Now, the market is at a crossroads. The US economic recovery, while stumbling upward, is certainly not robust. The zillion dollar question is: Will the feeble recovery support more zing in the market?

Neil Irwin of the “Washington Post” certainly has doubts, reflected in his story - “Jubilation Exceeds Economic Reality” – in that newspaper on April 13. However, he does concede that the economy is growing more durably than in the past few months, making it seem less likely the US will recede back into deep recession.
